    Year 9 students will be receiving their inoculation injections during Tuesday morning. They are to be given their specific appointment time by the Form Tutor, and it is essential that they arrive at the appointed time, so as to avoid delays for other students.

    The School Nursing Team are available for confidential chats with students, regarding any medical concerns or issues, on specified days throughout the year.

    The School Nursing Team will be available at Ash Hill Academy at lunchtimes on the following days:

  • HEALTH CAREERS VISIT

    On Thursday 11th May 2017, a group of our Post 16 Health & Social Care students visited the Doncaster Royal Infirmary, along with their teacher Mrs Doyle. The visit allowed the students an opportunity to gain first-hand experience of the careers they may wish to pursue, and to look at future careers in the Health & Social Care sector, as they talked to professionals.

  • MAY ATTENDANCE COMPETITION

    3rd May 2017

    The next attendance competition has now begun, with “Meerkat May”! All form groups with attendance above 97% between 2nd May 2017 and 31st May 2017 will be entered into a draw. One form in each year group will be selected at the end of the month, and will get a free day out at the Yorkshire Wildlife Park!

    For your chance to get your form group to see the animals, just make sure you attend the academy as much as possible – good luck.

  • DONCASTER TEENAGE MARKET

    28th April 2017

    Doncaster’s first ever ‘Teenage Market’ will be taking place on Saturday 13th May 2017 in the Market Place, Doncaster. Running from 10.00am to 4.00pm it is designed for young people aged 13 to 25, to get involved and showcase their talents and entrepreneurial skills.

    Young people are encouraged to participate in creating a great event for Doncaster, with a vibrant and exciting festival atmosphere! The Teenage Market is FREE to take part in so participants don’t have to be established traders or performers.

  • TRAINING DAY AND BANK HOLIDAY

    The academy will be closed to students on Friday 28th April 2017 for a staff training day and Monday 1st May 2017 for the May Day Bank Holiday. The academy will reopen to students at 8.00am on Tuesday 2nd May 2017.

  • AMAZING APRIL COMPETITION

    26th April 2017

    This month is ‘Amazing April’, our latest attendance competition! For 100% attendance, students can earn themselves a seat at one of four movie nights – to be held on 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th May 2017. The films have yet to be decided, and students are being asked to pass their suggestions to Form Tutors, who will in turn pass them on to Learning Managers. Students who achieve 100% will be able to decide which film they would like to stay and watch.

    Sweets and drinks will also be on sale during the movie night

  • ROYAL NAVY ACTIVITY DAY

    7th April 2017

    Students from Year 10 were treated to an action-pack and informative morning courtesy of the Royal Navy Youth Engagement Team before lunch on Friday 7th April 2017.

    Having being split up into two working groups, the students took turns in the following sessions:

    - Catering aboard – delivered by a qualified Royal Navy Chef, students saw how sailors are kept fit and healthy through the food they are served. A delicious chicken curry was prepared and offered for tasting, whilst students had the opportunity to qu

  • EASTER HOLIDAY

    The academy will close for the Easter holidays at 3.30pm on Friday 7th April 2017, and reopen at 8.00am on Monday 24th April 2017. We wish our students and their families a restful break, and look forward to their return for the start of the summer term.

  • FRIDAY ENRICHMENT BUS

    4th April 2017

    We are making students and their families aware that the Enrichment Bus service will be finishing on Thursday 6th April 2017, and will resume on Monday 25th April 2017. As such any students that are intending to stay for Enrichment sessions on Friday 7th April 2017 will need to make alternative arrangements for their journeys home.

  • KEYBOARD CLUB

    4th April 2017

    Mrs McNulty would like to make students aware that the Keyboard Club enrichment sessions have now come to an end, and from Monday 5th June 2017 will be replaced with Samba Band sessions. Any students wishing to take part in the Samba Band can turn up to Performing Arts on Mondays from 5th June 2017 at 2.30pm for some musical magic.

    As of Thursday 6th April 2017, the Girls Football enrichment sessions will be changing to Girls Rounders. Miss Sims requests that any girls from across all year groups that are interested please either attend the first session, on Thursday 6th April, or otherwise get a message to her expressing their interest in joining their year team. This is so that Miss Sims can know the exact numbers of teams to enter for competitions
