On Tuesday Y7 and Y8 students from the Ambition programme visited Cutlers’ Hall in Sheffield.

The Cutlers’ Hall was built in 1832 by Samuel Worth and Benjamin Broomhead Taylor. Cutlers’ Hall is a Grade II* listed building in Sheffield, that is the headquarters of the Company of Cutlers in Hallamshire. Cutlery is any implement that can cut eg knife, sword, scissors. Spoons and forks are known as flatware.

Students met the Master Cutler (pictured below with Y8 student Callum G) and had a tour of the Hall. There were artefacts from the Olympia (sister ship of the Titanic). The majority of the tableware on display is used by the Cutlers for grand occasions.
