On Thursday 25 February we are delighted to introduce the weekly Thoughtful Thursday Challenge during period 5 (1.30pm-2.30pm). Please click here to find out more information.
Life has changed for us all at the moment during the lockdown and at Ash Hill Academy we are passionate about developing ways to support our students into adapting to create positive routines, trying to engage in useful activities such as cleaning, cooking or exercise or meaningful activities such as reading or keeping in touch with friends in order to support wellbeing and positive mental health.
Thursday 25 February at 1.30pm will be the start of the Ash Hill Academy Thoughtful Thursday Challenge, please click here to view a range of possible ideas.
We would love it if you and your family are able to take part. Remember there will be no period 5 lesson for any year group so we hope you use this time to get outside and take part in some physical exercise or take part in any form of Thoughtful Thursday activity!
There are two options for the challenge:
- Taking part in some physical exercise. #StepsChallenge
Your physical health has a big impact on how you are feeling emotionally and mentally. To allow us all to support each other and celebrate individual and collective achievements we are asking you to log your steps every Thursday, from getting up in the morning, until 6pm. This can be done on any smartwatch or using one of the many free smartphone apps.
- Doing other well being activities that you enjoy or trying new things. #WellbeingChallenge
Alternatively focusing on your favourite hobby, learning something new or simply taking time to relax can boost your mood. If you can’t do the things you normally enjoy, try to think about how you could adapt them or try something new. Please click here to view a range of possible ideas to take part in during the Ash Hill Academy Thoughtful Thursday Challenge.
In order for your child to share their amazing contributions to the Ash Hill Academy Thoughtful Thursday Challenge, all your child needs to do is then log it using the Microsoft Form, which will be posted as a link in your relevant Pastoral Year Group Teams room titled: DNAHA Year 7, DNAHA Year 8, DNAHA Year 9, DNAHA Year 10 or DNAHA Year 11. The link will be posted every Thursday.
