Dear Parents/Carers of Year 11 Students,
Year 11 Results Day
We wanted to give some reminders about Results Day this Thursday.
We have introduced a number of timeslots so that we can comply with the current guidance regarding social distancing, for students who would like to receive their results at school. The timeslots have been allocated according to surname, and are shown below.
9:00am – 9:30am
Students can also inform us that they do not wish to attend on this day and opt for their results to be sent out via post after the Results Day event.
Please note that it is vitally important that students only attend during their allotted timeslot. Students should arrive at main reception no more than 5 minutes prior to their timeslot.
Unfortunately, as we will be limiting the number of people on-site, parents and carers will not be able to come into the Academy. Please note that the car park at the front of school will be unavailable due to the ongoing building work. However, the Hatfields pub have been very kindly allowing us to use their car park over the last few months, so please feel free to park in there on Thursday morning. Alternatively, there may be space on the roadside.
As you are probably aware, there have been a number of changes to the way that grades are going to be awarded. As soon as we received updated and complete information, we will pass it on to you.
It has been confirmed that, once grades have been issued on 20th August, students who feel that their grades do not reflect their ability will have the opportunity to take their exams in an autumn examination series between the 2nd and 23rd November 2020. The academy deadline for students to request entry to the examination series in November is the 11th of September 2020. Requests should be made directly to the academy. Information regarding how to request an examination re-sit will be shared with students on Results Day and further information will be made available on our website.
We want to ensure that all Year 11 students progress successfully to an appropriate destination in September, so our careers team will be available for appointments over the next few weeks. Please click here for more details.
As it currently stands, we have not yet been able to celebrate the culmination of the hard work and time that our Year 11 students spent with us as we normally would. We continue to monitor the situation and we are still hopeful that we will be able to celebrate their achievements at some point in the future, when it is safe to do so.
Finally, I would like to thank you for your patience and support as we all work together, to support our school community.
