Fighting spirit shown by boys' football teams

The Ash Hill Year 9 and 10 team came up against a very strong Hall Cross side and trailed 6-0 at half time, despite Kaylan Storey hitting the crossbar from a 25 yard free kick. The lads showed excellent fighting spirit to pull two goals back in the second half; both goals coming from the right boot of Jack Rayner. The game finished 9-2, but the second half performance showed a lot of positives. Man of the match was awarded to Year 9 student Zak Tonge who played outstandingly well at left back.

After a poor first half performance from Ash Hill Year 7 and 8 team, resulting in them being 4-0 down, the boys battled back really well to win the second half and finish losing 5-2 to a good Hall Cross team.  Two goals from Louis Kaye, one of which was within minutes of half time, made a real contest of the game.  The second half performance was excellent with the Ash Hill lads fighting for every ball and showing a great attitude.
