Dear Parents and Carers,
Principal of Ash Hill Academy
It is with regret that I have to announce Mr Higgins will be leaving the Academy during the next few weeks to embark on a secondment to another Trust in West Yorkshire.
The transformation of Ash Hill Academy since Mr Higgins joined us four years ago has been truly remarkable. He has been an inspiration to all staff and students. The Governors have fully appreciated his efforts improving both academic and behavioural standards. The Ofsted visit in March 2020 received the ‘Good’ ranking but with many features of an outstanding school. A credit to Mr Higgins, the Senior Leadership Team, teaching and support staff and of course, the students themselves.
I am pleased to announce that Mr Graham Moffatt has been successfully appointed as Principal of Ash Hill Academy. Mr Moffatt is a very experienced Principal who has worked within the Trust for a number of years and is the current Principal of Hull Trinity House Academy. We are completely confident that he has the proficiency to take over from Mr Higgins, ensuring that we will see continued progress for all of our students.
Mr Moffatt will be writing to all students and their parents and carers very shortly, to introduce himself and outline his vision for taking the Academy forwards. He has been working closely with Mr Higgins to ensure a smooth and effective handover, which I feel is especially important given the current public health emergency and has become more involved in the day to day running of the Academy.
I would personally like to thank Mr Higgins for all his hard work and dedication this last four years and wish him well for the future.
