Message from Mr Higgins

25th September 2020

Dear Parents/Carers,

Future Leadership at Ash Hill Academy

I write to inform you about the Academy’s future leadership.

I have been seconded to another Academy Trust in West Yorkshire to support in leadership initiatives, however, I would like to say that it has been an honour to lead Ash Hill Academy, along with my experienced and talented leadership team on an incredible journey over the past four years.  I have said on numerous occasions that the dedication of the students, parents/carers and staff of Ash Hill has been outstanding and I am happy to share with you that we are officially now in the top 100 most improved schools in the country.

I am pleased to announce that I will leave the Academy in the tremendously capable hands of the incoming Principal of Ash Hill Academy, Graham Moffatt.  Mr Moffatt is the current Principal of Hull House Trinity Academy in Hull, also part of Delta Academies Trust and I am absolutely confident that with his wealth of experience and knowledge which spans over many years, the Academy will continue to flourish and our students will continue to receive the support and see the results they deserve. There will be a transition period, during which myself and / or Mr Moffatt will lead the Academy until my final departure.

You and your child can rest assured that I will do all I can whilst still at the Academy to ensure that Mr Moffatt can begin his tenure on a sound footing and take the Academy, with your support, from strength to strength. It has been an absolute pleasure to serve this community and work in partnership with you all and I would personally like to thank you all for your support.

I would also like to take this opportunity to tell you how incredibly impressed I have been by the start of the new academic year during the most unusual and challenging times. The Academy Risk Assessment Plan makes the Academy as safe and secure as it can possibly be, but above all, the students have shown commitment as they return to a very different educational setting.

Yours faithfully,

Mr J Higgins
