The Ash Hill STEM Family Challenge is back!

EDT (Engineering Development Trust) and the ever popular STEM Family Challenge event returns to Ash Hill Academy on Tuesday 25th February 2020 at 5.30-7.30pm (the first Tuesday back after half term).

Students and family members are invited to take part in a fun and unique event, which has been designed to raise awareness and show families of all abilities, some of the courses and careers available in STEM - Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths. As well as provide families the opportunity to work in teams on an exciting ‘hands on’ activity, where they will have the chance to win an Amazon voucher!

Ash Hill Academy held two STEM Family Challenges last academic year and were both great successes. We look forward to building upon these events, having a lot of fun but also taking away a greater understanding of careers in engineering.

The family teams will be made up to include at least one student and one adult (parent/ carer/ family friend/ teacher) – please feel free to bring along as many other family members as you wish (all ages welcome). No prior knowledge of STEM is required!

Quotes from previous events:

‘I found it inspiring and it was also fun’... ‘My daughter could have a career in engineering’... ‘From taking part today we have learnt that STEM is involved in many aspects of our lives and that there are many career options involving STEM.’

If you are interested in taking part in the STEM Family Challenge event, please complete the application slip being given out at school and return to Mr Hodson as soon as possible. Teams will be accepted on a first come-first served basis served up to a maximum of 120 people.

Refreshments will be served from 5.15pm onwards, ready for a prompt start at 5.30pm.
