Year 9 students who are part of the Ambition programme were lucky enough to visit the Yorkshire Wildlife Park to tour the site, handle some unusual and wonderful animals and learn about career opportunities available.

Even though it was a wet and cold day this didn’t dampen our students spirits who for many students this was there first visit to the Yorkshire Wildlife Park, one of the biggest attractions Doncaster and Yorkshire has to offer.

Students held hissing cockroaches, giant snails and a blind Royal Python, and then later had the opportunity of seeing the other animals around the park including the lions, tigers and giraffes.

Finally our students learned about the many jobs and career opportunities there were available at the YWP with varying experience and qualifications required. All students departed the YWP very much inspired about the possibility of working with these wonderful animals and contributing to the incredible work YWP do create safe environments for endangered animals and animals that have been rescued.

Thank you Yorkshire Wildlife Park!
